From the ccMo Archives – Pink Floyd Zombie Halloween 2010

Back in October 2010, Cadence CommotionsRex Havoc and Sydney muso Art Rush teamed up to organise a live show in homage to Pink Floyd, and in particular to the Dark Side Of The Moon album.

The ‘I Have A Dream’ Mural on Newtown’s King Street was the setting, the time – Halloween Eve.

The first half of the night featured performances of the best of Floyd’s back catalogue, then Art Rush gathered his ‘League of Zombies’ (in zombie garb and other colourful costumes to play Dark Side in its entirety – from midnight of course.

A great turnout of Floyd fans old and new surrounded the stage area, and as the night headed into the witching hour, the crowd spread out across King Street itself.

Local media popped in to check out the shenanigans, resulting in an article the next week in the Inner City Weekender.

A video of the night was shot by Lucas Stanton and some nice drunken snaps resulted, you can check out the photo album here.

Performers and crew on the night were:

Art Rush – vocals & keyboards
Andrew Gambell – lead guitar
Alistair Seeger – bass guitar
Spike Thomson – drums
Yu Si Liu – mandolin & vocals
Brett Casey – bass on ‘Time’
Nancy Mylott – violin
Bean Reah – drums on ‘Time’ & backing vocals
Caitlin Still – vocals on ‘Great Gig In The Sky’

The main man himself Rex Havoc
– vocals, Grim Reaper, banner signwriting & organisation

Sally Hackett – sound & PA setup
Roy Elbourne – staging & production
Kathe Payne – xylophone & organisation

A wild night was had by all, and it lead to many discussions about taking over that space again for another shindig… who knows maybe we will.
